"Action Research" — Rather than studying what has been, action research explores ways to ignite change and evolution.

ARTS Action Research helps arts professionals develop healthy, balanced and productive organizations and relationships in the following areas.

  • Comprehensive Organizational Planning – providing guidance on planning, professional and board leadership development, leadership transition, board function and development, organizational structure and restructuring;
  • Resource Development – building audiences and community participation and relational fundraising and development programs;
  • Organizational Assessment – developing and using practical assessment tools and processes;
  • Special Action Research – initiating and collaborating on special projects to develop and test new concepts and approaches for operating healthy arts organizations and increasing and enhancing arts participation on every level.

ARTS Action Issues is the publishing and distribution arm of ARTS Action Research. From ideas to actions, concepts to practical applications, ARTS Action Issues publications help arts professionals work, lead and make a difference. Publications include books, special reports, handbooks, and critical essays. AAR publications are made available to our individual, consortium and special project clients as reference and resource tools.
