Knowledge Building

Our approach is one of discovery more than invention, understanding more than explaining ...

Through one-on-one consulting, workshops and a variety of publications AAR compiles, updates and generates an ever expanding body of research, concepts, solutions, responses and information about the evolving arts field.

Building and sharing knowledge is not only fundamental to AAR’s work but a core value as well. Knowledge is a key currency for learning and creating positive change in our arts organizations and communities. AAR’s support of arts professionals, their organizations and by extension entire communities relies on a strong, ever expanding knowledge-based learning dynamic. Since learning is the process whereby individuals acquire knowledge, information and experience that change behavior, lateral learning is the process of sharing knowledge, information and experience that brings about community-wide change. The hallmark of the AAR brand and process of working has always been one of building and sharing the most current knowledge, information and experience advancing the field.
